Do You Know Your Rights Under the New Medical Staff Self-Governance Law?

California’s Medical Staff Bill of Rights took effect January 1. This CMA-sponsored law strengthens the self-governance rights of hospital medical staffs and helps to ensure that the needs of patients remain the top priority in all medical decisions.

To help hospital medical staffs understand and benefit from the Medical Staff Bill of Rights, CMA has published a primer that will answer physicians’ most frequently asked self-governance questions. The primer is available through CMA ON-CALL (document #1218).
