Federal Liability Reform Bill Passes U.S. House
By a one-vote margin, HR 4600, a federal professional liability reform
measure that includes the major provisions of California's Medical Injury
Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) has passed the U.S. House of Representatives.
The bill will now move to the U.S. Senate where it is not expected to be acted
upon before congress adjourns next month.
